How It All Works
The biggest benefit of having a private photo editor, as opposed to going with one of the major editing companies, is that you’ll only have one person to deal with… that’s me! Dealing with multiple editors and team members can lead to a lot of miscommunication, re-explaining yourself, and inconsistent editing done by someone new each time. When you work with me I’ll take the time to learn your style and the images you receive from each shoot will be consistent. I’m a one-woman operation, so you’ll always be communicating with me directly! But before we get started, let me give you a brief rundown of the process:
1. Getting to Know You
We’ll set up a video chat so we can meet face-to-face, and get to know each other a bit, and then we’ll chat a bit about your personal editing style and process.
2. Upload Your Sample Images
You’ll send me your Lightroom gallery of around 10-50 unedited sample photos via Dropbox along with any presets/anchor images you’d like me to use. I don’t need the RAWs; you’ll be exporting the images as smart previews through Lightroom. Don’t worry if you’ve never done that before, it’s really easy and I’ve explained the process here.
3. Sample Gallery
Once I receive your sample images, I’ll send you a gallery of edits, no charge. You’ll look over the edits and provide some feedback, and then once you’re comfortable with the results we can start on your first wedding gallery.
4. Quarterly Meetings
We’ll set up a quick call or zoom meeting at the beginning of every quarter to go over the dates for your upcoming weddings. I’ll need a deposit of $100 per wedding at this time, which will count towards the final cost of each project. I do not add wedding dates to my schedule until receiving a deposit. I can only edit a handful of weddings per week, and so having this deposit in advance guarantees your 1 week turnaround time, and allows me to gauge how many weddings I can take on per month.
Quick Turnaround
You’ll receive your edits within 1 week after I have received your gallery, however, last-minute orders may take up to 2 weeks, which is why I recommend providing your expected wedding dates and deposits at the beginning of each quarter to guarantee your 1 week turnaround time. Rush delivery (2-3 days) is available for an additional fee.

For Me, It’s About Freedom
People often think I must be crazy for wanting to take on other photographers’ editing work. As a natural-born night owl, a hopeless daydreamer, and a girl who never fully grew out of her emo phase, I knew from a pretty young age that I wasn’t meant for that 9-5 life and that I was destined for a creative career that would allow me to live my ideal lifestyle. This became even more apparent when I began to suffer some long-term effects from a car crash I was in several years ago. Creating beautiful, meaningful photographs is my passion, but, as much as I love shooting weddings, my time behind the camera is limited these days because of a debilitating back injury resulting from that accident, and an unrelated chronic illness. But in all honesty, I’m okay with that because I LOVE editing, and being a private photo editor gives me the freedom to still play an active role in the wedding photography industry, while avoiding strenuous activities and being able to practice self-care on the days my body needs it most. It gives me the freedom to spend a great deal of time with my two rescue dogs (children), and I get to see the progress they make first-hand every day! It gives me the freedom to keep in touch with and visit my loved ones around the country. I absolutely love what I do and the life it allows me to live :)
